Renan Moreira, husband of the nurse who was shot in the head during a robbery on a bus in Guadalupe, in the north of Rio, said that armed robberies on line 712 – which runs the Coelho Neto x Seropédica section are common. He reveals that in November he was the victim of a robbery and a gun was pointed at his head in a bus that makes the trip. At the time, Renan lost his cell phone, but was not injured.
Luiz Otávio, 27, who is a nurse and works in a hospital in Niterói, in the metropolitan region, was not so lucky. He was wearing headphones when two assailants approached the passengers, so it took him a while to understand what was happening in the bus and the criminals shot him in the head. He is in the Getúlio Vargas Hospital, in Penha, where he underwent surgery and his health is considered serious.
“This line has a history of robberies. I have heard reports of people who were stabbed. I already had a gun pointed at my head because of a cell phone. Otávio had never been robbed on that bus. It was the first time. They told us he was carrying a helmet and he was distracted. He didn’t notice the movement, he got scared and one of the bandits said to immediately shoot him in the head, “said Renan, who learned about the assault from a neighbor.
The woman, who takes the same bus as Luiz Otávio, told about the approach and that a child with the same characteristics as the nurse had been beaten.
“I was sick [na hora em que recebi a notícia]I even fainted, ”said Renan, who defined her husband as a dedicated person, who loves the profession and has always helped save lives.
“He started out as a nursing technician, went to college and became a nurse, he also taught in a technical course. At the height of the pandemic [de covid-19], we face a problem with transportation. He woke up earlier, walked 30 minutes to another point to catch another bus, came home later, because it was the same difficulty getting home. “
The case was registered at the Ricardo de Albuquerque Police Station (PD 31), which is investigating the case. The bandits managed to escape and so far have not been located.
In a note sent to TwitterExpresso Real Rio, which manages the line, reported that it drove the bus to the Fire Department immediately after the robbery to provide assistance to the passenger who was shot.
The case occurred when the bus was passing through Avenida Brasil, Rio’s busiest highway, which provides access to the Presidente Dutra, Washington Luís and Río x Santos highways, as well as the Río Niterói bridge. The highway also integrates the western, northern and downtown regions of the city.
