The arrival of heavy rains at the beginning of Christmas night, this Friday (25), put the municipalities of Niterói and Rio de Janeiro in the attention stage. According to the forecast of the Civil Defense agencies of the cities, the storm should continue for the next few hours.
The Niterói Civil Defense Operations and Monitoring Center reported the change of scenery, at 6 pm, due to the displacement of nuclei of moderate to heavy rain that operate throughout the Metropolitan Region.
The agency advises that in an emergency, simply call 199 or 2620-0199.

The Rio City Council Operations Center also issued an alert for the internship change, at 6:20 pm, mainly for the West Zone of the city. Between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., a record of very heavy rains was recorded in Bangu (14.8 mm).
The attention stage is the third level on a scale of five and means that one or more occurrences already impact the municipality, affecting the routine of part of the population.
Watch out
- Do not move through the regions most affected by the rain;
- Avoid areas subject to flooding and / or landslides;
- Do not force vehicles through apparently flooded areas;
- In cases of strong winds and / or rain with electric shocks, avoid being near trees or in open areas;
- At flood points, avoid direct contact with poles or equipment that may be energized;
- Avoid contact with flood water. The water can be contaminated and present health risks;
- Look for signs of cracks in your home. When you notice cracks or damage to the structure, call Civil Defense at number 199 and avoid staying at home;
- Residents at risk should be alert to audible alerts. Activation of the sirens indicates a slip hazard. People must go to the support points established by the Municipal Civil Defense. The locations are reported by number 199.
