A 53-year-old man was arrested on charges of sexual harassment. According to the investigation, he allegedly harassed a woman who was receiving a massage from him at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro.
According to the police, the case occurred when the man, who was massaging the region of the victim’s spine, ran his hands over the woman’s private parts.
According to the victim’s testimony, she reacted to the man’s touch and got up scared. The suspect reportedly apologized to him, but claimed he could not control himself. According to the victim’s account, the accused said: “I am a man! Happens!”.
Antônio Silvino, the delegate responsible for the arrest, spoke with UOL about the case. “As soon as the case happened, she went to look for a friend and cried a lot and came to the police station with her family and was very angry. As soon as he reported the incident to the police station, we went to the place where he worked and he was arrested. At the time of his arrest, he still told the police that he did not need to be arrested, since he had apologized to the woman and had accidentally collided with her private parts, several times, ”he reported.
According to the authorities, the accused will be responsible for the crime of sexual harassment – practicing a libidinous act against someone, without his permission, with the aim of satisfying his own lust – which is a crime provided for in the Penal Code with a prison sentence from 1 to 5 years.
