A surprise birthday party at Registro, in the interior of São Paulo, in early October ended up contaminating several members of the same family with Covid-19. The party was for the patriarch of the family who turned 70 years old. Information is from G1.
According to nursing technician Lucieny Moura, relatives began to experience symptoms of the disease about three days after the event. In all, six people who took the test came back positive and another 16 had symptoms but did not take it.
According to the technician, those who worked in the central office or the students did not get to take the test, because they were already isolated. From the family, Lucieny, her husband, brother, sister-in-law and parents took the test and all received confirmation of the disease. “The symptoms were the same, even in those who did not do the test,” he explained to G1.
“I had vomiting and a lot of headache, on the second day I had diarrhea, pain in my legs below the hips, very strong, I felt that my head was going to explode and all the members of my family had the same symptoms. The biggest concern was my parents, who were very weak, they no longer ate and had a lot of pain, “said the technician.
Despite the shock, no one in the family needed to be hospitalized. “We are fine thanks to God. My husband is better, but he still has complications from diabetes,” she told G1.
Still, according to Lucieny, the family was extremely careful and therefore decided to reunite. After the episode, he celebrated his recovery and posted a text alerting his friends to the danger.
“People are working for me as a nurse, but above all, I am a human being. All of us who go out to work are on the front line, I made the post to warn of this, ”he told G1.
