Last Tuesday (03), Benjamim Nunes de Jesus, 4 years old, disappeared on a Guarujá beach, on the coast of São Paulo.
Ana Cristina de Souza Nunes, the boy’s mother, was off duty and took the boy to enjoy the day on the beach of Santa Cruz dos Navegantes, where he was with a friend and her daughter. At a certain point, his father passed by the place and Benjamin went to meet him, playing for a few moments.
After the interaction with the father, the boy returned to his mother. In an interview with TV Tribuna, affiliated with Rede Globo, Ana Cristina revealed that her son asked to go to the Saldanhas Community Center, whose entrance is close to where the family was. “They (her son and her friend’s daughter) always went to the water, but they stayed here. In that, when her father had already left, she (girl) came and asked once more to go to Saldanha, and then we said no, “he said.
In a split second, Ana lost sight of Benjamin. “That’s when I said, ‘Where’s Ben?'” He said. At this point, a local resident said he saw the boy dove into the water. When she looked, he was gone. That’s why I have this in my head. It may be in the sea, ”Ana said.
The Fire Department and the Maritime Fire Brigade (GBMar) were called in to rescue Benjamin. According to GBMar, the search for water continued until Tuesday night and continues until Wednesday morning (04).
“As he likes adventure, he watches adventure videos, he could have entered Saldanhas and the mountain. I don’t even want to think about the possibility of losing my son, ”concluded Ana Cristina.
