Shelves collapse in MA supermarket, killing at least one person

A collapse of shelves full of products in a supermarket killed at least one person and left four others injured on Friday night (2), in São Luís, Maranhão, according to the State Fire Department.

According to a report by Jornal da Globo, the accident happened around 8 pm, when one of the shelves of the Atacadão Mix Mateus Atacarejo collapsed and ended up knocking down other shelves in sequence.

The governor of Maranhão, Flávio Dino (PCdoB), posted on his Twitter account that he was following the rescue of the victims by firefighters. The name of the fatal victim was not released.
