Only the municipalities of Conceição da Barra and Ibitirama, which have a moderate risk, can receive students in the classrooms. No city was classified as low risk. As a result, the other 76 municipalities are expected to continue classes remotely, with the exception of courses related to public health and safety in high-risk cities. Look at the rules:

EXTREME RISK: Educational activities are suspended at all levels with the presence of students, and only distance classes are allowed.

HIGH RISK: Suspension of activities with the presence of students in all public and private schools, with the exception of courses related to public health and safety.

The measures for the municipalities in the extreme and high risk classifications begin from Monday (5) and have a validity of 14 days. Conceição da Barra and Ibitirama, which are at moderate risk and the face-to-face classes released, will undergo a new evaluation next Friday (9).

The report contacted the State Department of Education (Sedu) questioning whether, with the new measures, there would be any adjustment in planning or support for students, but there was no response to this demand. Sedu only reported that “face-to-face classes are suspended in all extreme and high risk municipalities. And in cities of moderate risk, they can happen ”.

The president of the Union of Private Education Companies of Espírito Santo (Sinepe), Moacir Lellis, reported that the entity will continue with classes remotely, in accordance with government regulations in extreme and high risk municipalities. “We will continue to teach online classes and we will hope that the government and the decrease in the transmission rate, ICU occupancy and deaths will again have face-to-face classes,” he said.

However, the biggest concern continues to be early childhood education classes. Despite this, it ensures that private schools continue to invest in technologies to ensure learning across all age groups.

“What we have the most problems with is early childhood education. But since last year, schools have invested heavily in technology to serve our students. We will wait for the state government and the improvement in the indexes, because face-to-face classes are very important. Especially in this age group from 0 to 5 years, because we know that children from 2 to 3 years are at the time of greatest assimilation. The biggest problem is not so much the pedagogical one, but the emotional one, because these children need to interact with other children. But the schools will continue to provide all the necessary material and will continue with the online classes, ”he added.

Regarding classes in private institutions in Conceição da Barra and Ibitirama, Lellis stated that Sinepe has no associates in these cities. But that, according to state government regulations, private schools in these municipalities can give face-to-face classes.

The report tried to contact the National Union of Municipal Education Directors (Undime) of Espírito Santo, to find out more information about early childhood education classes in the public network. But the calls were not answered.
