The Superintendent of Urgencies and Emergencies of the State Health Secretariat, Diogo Bahía Losso, reported that patients will be transported individually, on two daily flights. One will be with the Arcanjo-02 aircraft, of the SC Fire Department, and the other in a private company aircraft that provides services to the State. The reason for transport on individual flights is the health status of the patients, who are intubated in the ICU and inspire care.

The Department of Health reported that it is working in teams to screen patients in clinical conditions to face the trip, which is expected to last three and a half hours. The State is still defining the departure time and boarding places.

The State intends to take advantage of the 16 vacancies offered

The government of Espírito Santo offered up to 16 ICU beds Covid-19 in the hospital network of the Metropolitan Region of Vitória. In an interview with CBN Diário on Tuesday afternoon, Superintendent Diogo Losso stated that the intention of the State is to try to take advantage of all these available beds. These will be the first transfers of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in other states. Until then, according to Losso, there were only transfers within the state: a total of 1,651 trips made by Samu, including patients with and without Covid-19 and tests.

– It is an extremely complex operation and it may be difficult for us to find patients in a position to be transferred. But the idea is that we can take advantage of all these 16 vacancies and give relief to the needs of the Far West. In the coming days the activation of new beds in the region is expected and, if confirmed, it is possible that there is no need for air transport – he stressed, in the interview with CBN Diário.
