Social isolation in Santa Catarina is 39%, a number considered “worrying” by the Secretary of State for Health, André Motta. The percentage was released by the Santa Catarina government on Tuesday night. Regarding coronavirus patients, the state has 214 more cases compared to Monday’s bulletin (11), going from 3,529 to 3,733. Four more deaths were also recorded, totaling 73 deaths.
SC has more than 200 new cases and four deaths from Covid-19; social isolation is 39%
The statement was made by Motta. Governor Carlos Moisés (PSL) was not present.

The most recent deaths are:
- 38 year old man Papanduva, in the north of the state, without previous illnesses.
- 64-year-old woman from Jaraguá do Sul, northern state
- 76-year-old woman from Xaxim, in the west
- 92 year old man from Joinville, Norte
All the elderly had previous illnesses.
According to the secretary, a more comfortable index of social isolation would be above 50%.
“If we don’t adapt, we may experience some difficulties,” he said.
The objective is that the progress of the disease does not exceed the capacity of the health network in Santa Catarina.
“Our index needs to improve, people must understand that they should stay home whenever possible. If it is inevitable to leave the house, go out with masks, use alcohol gel, soap and water,” he said.
The Department of Health also published other data on the disease in Santa Catarina:
- the state has 113 patients admitted to beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- The occupancy rate of reserved beds for Covid-19 in the public network is 16.87%
- The mortality rate of the disease in Santa Catarina is 1.95%
- Santa Catarina has 1,962 recovered from Covid-19 and 1,708 is still ill
