The city of São Paulo announced the anticipation of vaccination against covid-19 of people over 90 years of age in the city of São Paulo. Previously, the start of vaccination for this age group was scheduled for next Monday.
The decision was made given that the 468 UBS (Basic Health Units) in the city are already supplied to start vaccination. In this first stage, people over 90 years of age must go to a UBS with CPF, vaccination card and SUS card, if they have one, to receive immunization. For older people with reduced mobility, the city will provide home vaccination through the Family Health Program (PSF).
The city council advises that older people who need a companion go to the vaccination points with a single person, to avoid crowds. All health protocols should be followed, such as wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand hygiene.
In a statement, the City Council of the capital stated that, to date, 24,171 older people have already been vaccinated. More than half of these older people who have already received the first dose of the vaccine have been immunized in long-term care facilities.
