The body of Daniel Engelmann, a military officer of the Brazilian army, was located on Friday (15).
The 19-year-old soldier had been missing since last Sunday (10), when the boat in which he and two other soldiers were found was hit by the traffickers’ boat.
Since then, several police forces have carried out searches, and this morning the body was found floating near the bridge.
On Thursday (14) the body of one of the traffickers involved in the accident was located.

MILITARY DEATH
The Command of the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade regrets having reported, this morning (May 15), the death of soldier Daniel Henrique Trarbach Engelmann, who was serving in the 15th Motorized Infantry Company (15th Cia Inf Mtz).
The soldier had been missing since 11 p.m. on May 10, when the boat patrolling the Paraná River was hit by an illegal ship carrying illegal products. The body was found by rescue teams from the search and rescue operation, around 5:30 a.m., and was taken to the Scientific Medical Police Legal Institute of Toledo (PR).
In this moment of dismay and pain, it is requested that the grief of the military family be respected, highlighting that all support has been provided to family members since the accident. Arrangements for the funeral and burial are also being made, following the wishes and guidelines of the family.
Finally, the Command of the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade appreciates the efforts of all members of the Interinstitutional Working Group, made up of members of the Brazilian Navy, the Brazilian Army, the Federal Police, the Federal Highway Police, the Police Civil, Military and the Police Corps. Military firefighters from the state of Paraná and the military police from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, who participated in the search operations, as well as in the support of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
