In a note, the president of the STJ, Minister Humberto Martins, reported that all test sessions have been suspended until the technical area manages to restore security in the system.

On Thursday, the Federal Police said they had launched a police investigation to investigate the invasion.

“The initial steps of the investigation have already been taken, including the participation of experts from the institution,” reported the PF.

“Possible related events can be investigated in the same investigation, which is ongoing at the Regional Superintendency of the Federal Police of the Federal District,” added the corporation.

The Federal Police are investigating a possible extortion, a criminal organization. The suspects may also be responsible for the so-called Carolina Dieckmann Act, which made it a crime to break into electronic devices to obtain private data.

Also on Thursday, STJ Minister Nefi Cordeiro said that work at the Court has been interrupted since Tuesday (3), while investigating the extent and damage of the attack.

“The STJ is working on this, with the federal police, with intelligence agencies to find out, hold the perpetrators accountable and resume work,” he said.

According to a report obtained by TV Globo, the technicians initially found a fault in the network’s internal protection system. Then, they saw that the error occurred when accessing the virtual environment where almost all STJ systems are hosted.

Early Tuesday night, the technical team reported that they listed signs of a system intrusion and that a file with virus characteristics was detected.

The STJ also reported that, shortly after the discovery, new attack attempts were identified.

Also on Thursday, the Ministry of Health reported having identified the existence of viruses in some workstations, adding that, for security reasons, the Information Technology Department of the Unified Health System (DataSUS) blocked employees’ access to the internet. .

“However, it is important to note that there was no invasion of hackers,” the folder said.
