Pernambuco resorted to the Plan for the Coexistence of Economic Activities with Covid-19. A state decree to be published on Tuesday (8) prohibits concerts and parties, with or without admission fees and regardless of the number of participants, throughout the state. Weddings, graduations, and similar social events can continue to happen, as long as current protocols are followed. Concerts and Christmas and New Year parties are prohibited in Pernambuco, including those that take place in public or private spaces, such as condominiums; clubs; hotels and the like. The decree enters into force tomorrow, as of its publication in the official diary.

The Secretary of State for Economic Development, Bruno Schwambach, stressed that the inspections were intensified and it was found that the current protocol in the state was being breached. Last weekend, Procon Pernambuco, in a joint action with the Military Police, Firefighters and the Environmental Brigade, inspected 16 establishments. Seven sites have been banned or notified.

“We are taking these measures as a precaution. I emphasize once again that, if we comply with the protocols, we will be able to carry out the coexistence plan, giving people the opportunity to leave the house to work. What they cannot doing is not complying with the rules and that is what happened in other European countries, the United States and Latin America. As for Asian countries,

Schwambach stressed that the dialogue with the productive sectors of the state will continue. “We want to reinforce this message so that the measures are fulfilled, since we saw a certain relaxation in the fulfillment of the protocols. We will have a closer dialogue to reinforce these actions and that we do not need to take even more drastic restrictive measures. The first steps we are taking, especially because we perceive a total non-compliance with the performance of shows and parties. In relation to the rest of the sectors, for now they will continue on the path and with the capacity that they are programmed, but we will speak to demand compliance with the protocols ”. , he emphasized.

According to the secretary, the state’s attention is drawn to the fact that the mask is not being used or required in establishments in the food sector. “In some food segments, we noticed the non-use of the protocol to serve people only when they are seated. It is worth mentioning that the food service will continue to function, but we ask that the protocols be obeyed so that the activities continue to function ”, he highlighted.

Data from the State Health Secretariat (SES-PE) supported the state’s decision on the facts. The Secretary of Health of Pernambuco, André Longo, said that epidemiological week 49 – from November 29 to December 5 – ended with the discharge of cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Srag) and requests for ICU beds in the state . There was a 5.6% increase in cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome, suspected of Covid-19.

“This is the third consecutive week that the indicators have risen. Then we leave a frame of fluctuations towards a clear trend of increasing cases. This fact now leads the Coping Committee to activate new measures in our coexistence plan to avoid an increase in contagion and, consequently, new cases and deaths. We intensified the inspection in the last weekend and verified the breach of the protocols in some bars, restaurants and discos, which promoted parties and shows, “he said.

Longo stressed that the inspection will intensify as of this Monday (7) to stop the breach of the protocols and also to raise awareness among the population. “If we continue to see the recurrence of non-compliance with protocols, in the coming days and weeks more severe actions can be taken in these leisure and entertainment sectors. The measures that we announce today are prudent to curb pollution, reduce contagion and, thus, avoiding more drastic actions, as well as new cases and deaths. It is an action to preserve life, “he said.

Historical

The events sector began to resume activities in Pernambuco, gradually, on September 7, when corporate events were authorized with a maximum limit of 100 people or 30% of the capacity of the establishments, between 6 am and 10 pm. In October, the state authorized the holding of corporate and institutional events with up to 50% of the environment’s capacity and a maximum of 300 people. The next step, starting with step 11 of the plan to make economic activities more flexible, would be to launch events with a capacity of up to 1,500 people.
