After escaping from the police for more than a year, Paulo Cupertino, who murdered actor Rafael Miguel, produced an original identification with a false name during the escape. He went to a position at the Paraná identification institute, took a photo on the site, gave him fingerprints, and left with a new identity, possibly helping him leave the country.
In the document, Paulo used the name Manoel Machado da Silva. In the photo he appears with short hair, all combed back, different from the one he wore when he escaped.
In the identity card, the CPF number reported is not from Cupertino either. In the document, Manoel Machado da Silva appears to be the son of Carlos Pereira da Silva and Maria Gomes Machado da Silva, while the names of Paulo’s real parents are Manoel Matias Sobrinho and Amélia Cupertino.
According to investigations, it was reported that Paulo Cupertino passed through more than 300 addresses in 10 states and two countries in South America. Bruno Tessari, official investigator of the case, requested the preventive detention of the murderer on June 3 of this year, after questioning two friends of the suspect, who told how they helped Cupertino escape from São Paulo shortly after the crime.
