Paraná reaches 168,717 confirmed cases and 4,237 deaths from Covid-19, says bulletin | Parana

Paraná has 168,717 confirmed cases and 4,237 deaths caused by Covid-19, according to the bulletin this Thursday (24) published by the State Department of Health (Sesa).

Compared to Wednesday’s survey (23), the state recorded an additional 36 deaths and 1,633 new cases.

According to Sesa, the 36 victims included in the survey are 13 women and 23 men, who died between August 28 and September 24. The patients were hospitalized.

The victims were between 36 and 90 years old and lived in the following cities:

  • Curitiba: 10 patients;
  • Londrina: 3 patients;
  • Bandeirantes, Campo Largo me Foz de Iguazu: 2 patients each;
  • Arapongas, Araucária, Cascavel, Colombo, Corbélia, Dois Vizinhos, Faxinal, Fazenda Rio Grande, Ivaiporã, Matinhos, Palmeira, Palmital, Piraquara, Santa Fé, São José dos Pinhais, Toledo me Umuarama: 1 patient each.

Paraná has 1,964 hospitalized patients diagnosed or suspected of Covid-19, in the public and private health network.

In total, 935 are in beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 1,029 in nursing vacancies, according to Sesa.

Among the patients diagnosed with the disease, there are 1,105 people hospitalized. According to the secretariat, 903 are in beds of the Unified Health System (SUS), 453 in the ICU and 450 in the ward.

In the private network, 202 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalized. Of these, 89 are in the ICU and 113 in clinical beds.

In Curitiba, the city reported that 541 people are hospitalized in the Covid-19 wing of the SUS. 264 in the ICU and 277 in the ward.

In relation to the SUS ICU beds for Covid-19, in the capital, the occupancy rate is 77%, with 80% capacity in the adult wing and 69% in the pediatric ward. Nursing has a rate of 72%.

Until the last update of this report, Sesa had not released the full survey of data, such as the bed occupancy rate and the list of cases and deaths by city.

According to the secretariat, the ministry faces technical problems and will release the data later.
