“We, the Palmeiras athletes, have just received the surprising news that the SP Athletes Union has published an official note on our behalf, threatening the CBF with legal measures to prevent the holding of next Sunday’s match against Flamengo .
First of all, we inform you that the Union has not obtained our authorization to issue said notice and does not represent us for that purpose.
In addition, it is important to note that we rely heavily on the protocols, as well as we understand that the pre-departure tests will guarantee the necessary security for their performance without major complications. Therefore, we do not feel, in any way, any threat to our health in the context of the aforementioned exit.
On the contrary, just as Flamengo himself declared to trust the protocols in other opportunities for the return of the competitions, we also have this same conviction.
We therefore expressly reject the Union acting on our behalf and we reiterate our interest in playing this Sunday’s game.
