Why restrict circulation?

The decision of the city council on day 4 took into account indicators of cases, deaths and hospitalizations based on data from the 33 administrative regions.

The increase in cases in the country was also taken into account.

“All the measures that we announce today have the main objective of preventing the 2020 genocide in the city of Rio de Janeiro from repeating itself in 2021,” said Mayor Eduardo Paes.

  • ‘All I don’t want is to shut down the whole city,’ says Paes
