MP gives 48h to the SP City Council to explain about the rotation of new cars

The São Paulo Public Ministry sent a letter to the City of São Paulo asking the administration to clarify the criteria used to determine the rotation of the new car, announced today. The measure, which restricts the number of vehicles on the streets, will begin next Monday, aims to contain the crowds during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new rotation will be valid for 24 hours; The rules stipulate that cars with odd end plates can only drive on odd days, while those with even end plates will only drive on even days. In this way, vehicles can travel every other day.

The promoter Camila Mansour da Silveira, of the 3rd Prosecutor for Justice of Housing and Urbanism in the Capital, sent the letter to the City Council asking for some points to be clarified.

The prosecutor gave the City Council and the CET (Traffic Engineering Company) a period of 48 hours to grant responses.
