A fight between two military policemen in Betim (MG) ended with the death of a sergeant on Monday (26). According to the case report, Leonicio Alves de Souza, 52, followed his ex-wife, 44, and saw her with another police officer, a 32-year-old MP corporal. The information is from G1.
The sergeant allegedly threatened to kill them both and, as a consequence, the corporal fired. The two PMs worked in the same battalion. According to the corporal’s version, the sergeant’s ex-wife called asking to be taken to get a freezer in another neighborhood and take it home.
On the way, the sergeant’s car blocked the passage of the cable car. The woman was allegedly taken from the car by Leonicio, who also made several insults. Then he would have threatened to kill the ex and afterwards, at which point the prime minister reacted and fired first. The sniper’s version was confirmed by the woman.
After shooting, the corporal called the police and tried to help the sergeant, however, the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) confirmed the death on the spot. The sniper was arrested and the corporation’s internal affairs department was called to pursue the case. Their weapons were seized.
In a brief statement to the newspaper O Tempo, the woman stated that she and the sergeant had been separated for about three months and that “there was no betrayal.”
