The bricklayer Venilson da Silva Souza, charged with intentional homicide for killing a person by throwing a gas can out of the window in Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro, has already gone through the police for assaulting the woman and for possessing drugs. The information is from Época magazine.

According to the Civil Police, in January of last year the baker’s wife reported having been hanged by him. The man reportedly stopped the assaults after the couple’s children, ages two and six, began screaming. The woman also said that she left the house and was again attacked by the man on the street. The assault only stopped after bystanders intervened in the case.

Even so, according to the victim, this was not the first time she had suffered assaults and, therefore, she requested protection measures against her husband.

The other record against Venilson is from November 2019. According to police, he was approached by a police officer for carrying a marijuana cigarette in Ipanema. During the approach, the man said that he had no document and attacked the police officer, until he was arrested and taken to the police station.
