Maricá received at the end of the afternoon of this Friday (04/24) some 2,850 doses of the vaccine against the influenza virus (H1N1) that, according to the Department of Health, will be distributed by the health posts of the city and to this Monday (27) for the immediate start of the second phase of the flu vaccination campaign promoted by the City Council in the municipality. In this second phase, bedridden and elderly patients will be immunized at home; the rest will be vaccinated in health centers.

According to the Health Secretary, Simone Costa, with the arrival of this new batch, it will be possible to continue with the vaccination schedule.

“It is important for the population to understand that only with this lot we will not be able to vaccinate everyone due to the number of vaccines received. Our priority in this second phase of the campaign are chronic patients, security officers and rescuers. In addition, we will continue to pay special attention to our elderly people who already have more than 20,000 immunized in the city, “said Simone Costa.

Regarding the amount of doses released by the state, Simone said that other municipalities are also complaining. “This is a problem in which we cannot intervene, but we continue to request the release of more vaccines for Maricá,” he guaranteed.
