Mano sees Bahia’s second bad moment, admits aggravated changes and concerns about wear | bay

The difference is that in the second half we were very bad. With the exception of the goal, in the goalkeeper position, all the changes we made did not bring positive things to the team.

– This is part of a package that comes from taking the game from Argentina, overcoming it, delivering it. We have already moved the team to try to give a little more health, to put players there who did not play most of the time, because they knew they would feel. But, in a second part, we had a better expectation, which did not happen. The team dropped in performance, did not repeat more, could not build almost anything, was dominated by Ceará. He suffered the goal with great physical exhaustion, he did not have the strength to fight for the result, for the reaction – continues Mano.

– We are concerned. We will have similar situations ahead. We won the place in the quarterfinals of the South American Games, we will have two tough games against Defense and Justice. We will also have great opponents for the Brazilian Championship. We will have to find solutions to minimize this wear and tear, which on the one hand comes from something positive, but has negative effects within the Brazilian Championship – said Mano Menezes.

Mano believes that the changes made in the second half, when he put Elías, Gilberto, Daniel and Rossi on the field, did not improve the team’s performance.

– I thought that in the first half we were direct and daring. I agree that the changes made the team worse. Got worse. But it is not an individual problem per se for the athletes who entered. Enter the accumulation. The tiredness of the others who stayed and played on Tuesday. The sum of all this produced, in the second half, a bad game.

Bahia reached the third consecutive defeat in the Brazilian Championship and, with the results of the moment of the round, it parked in the 13th position, with 28 points. Difference in Brasileirão vs. South American Cup

– Play well again, as we did in the first part. In the previous games, in the first half against São Paulo we were more or less. We controlled well tactically, but we didn’t have as much offensive strength. Natural against a top opponent within the league. We played a very bad game in Bragança, well below the level we present. We have to recover our condition, put our heads in place, understand each other with team identity. Playing in this way we can find good results again.

– Gabriel made good moves within what happened to him. Debut, then we are gaining parameters to know what it is capable of, what it can deliver, type of movement, characteristics within our team. But we had the merit of reaching the quarter-finals, we will try to reach the semi-finals. We believe that we can aspire to that for what we are playing, for the opponents that we face. But this, in parallel, creates a problem. You wear yourself out, you know you can’t bring the team to the same level in a few hours. Especially in both times. So let’s take it easy, let’s try to be serious, correct with all the sides that involve football, but mainly with Bahia, which is our obligation.

– Daniel is very close to Rodriguinho’s position. Elias is not in that evaluation. Rodriguinho returned, we are trying to give him a competitive pace. In a recent important game, I decided that I should give up both, to have more competition, more marking, more fighting in the midfield, it was the Argentine game. But I’m not going to impose an obligation on the two players in the role of solving all the team’s problems. The team is a team when it wins and when it loses.

The changes were not effective

– They were bad. I agree with the location. So much so that I took Edson with me. Exactly to preserve it. I had already taken the yellow card, I committed a foul that would be the second yellow.
