The Minas Gerais Court authorized the consumption of alcoholic beverages in bars and restaurants in Belo Horizonte. The decision is the result of a request from the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants of Minas Gerais (Abrasel-MG), which filed a lawsuit following the municipal decree that determined the ban in an attempt to stop the crowds of people in these establishments.
The order of mandamus authorizing the consumption was signed on the afternoon of Friday (11) by judge Maurício Leitão Linhares, of the 1st Municipal Public Finance Deed Court. The magistrate conditions the consumption of beverages in accordance with the health security protocol.
The decision applies only to establishments linked to the institution that represents the sector, as explained by Abrasel-MG president, Matheus Daniel. “With this decision, all the associates of the entity can sell alcoholic beverages. The president of the institution that represents the category in the state also requested the collaboration of the owners of these establishments to follow all the precautions to avoid the transmission of the disease. “I ask all bars and restaurants to respect the protocols and follow the protocols.
