Judge orders Saul Klein to undergo psychological examination

Son of Samuel Klein, founder of Casas Bahía, Saul Klein, 66, will have to undergo a psychological examination following a decision by the São Paulo court.

The decision was handed down by Judge Daniela Leal, in a lawsuit filed by Philip Klein, the businessman’s son, who requested the father’s ban on the grounds that he is wasting his assets in an “accelerated” and “inconsequential” manner.

According to UOL, Philip stated that Saul had a fortune of more than R $ 1.5 billion. But that, to his surprise, the father, who was a candidate for deputy mayor of São Caetano do Sul, declared before the electoral tribunal that he only had R $ 61 million.

“This suggests that it has spent R $ 1.4 billion in recent years,” Philip told Justice. The son said that the ban request is a necessary measure to prevent the father from going bankrupt.

Philip revealed that Saul has “thrown money”, “donating large amounts” to the São Caetano soccer team. “It should be prohibited as a measure to protect their own interests,” he declared. The interdiction request arrived on October 28.

Charge of rape

This month, Saúl has been accused of seducing and raping 14 women at parties at his home in Alphaville since 2008. The complaint against the Casas Bahía heir was published by Folha de S.Paulo last week.

As the investigations progressed, the São Paulo Public Ministry asked the businessman to hand over his passport and prohibited him from staying in contact with the victims.

Klein’s defense said that he did not commit the crimes and that he is the victim of an organized group that united with the objective of illicit enrichment at Saul’s expense. The defense also said that the businessman is a sugar daddy, a term that describes men who like to support young women in exchange for affection and sex.

The case is being investigated by the Public Ministry and is a secret from the Justice.
