Passenger Ratih Windania is one of 62 people aboard Indonesian airline Sriwijaya Air flight SJY182, which crashed in Indonesia on Saturday (9). Before boarding, he sent photos of the children to their relatives and wrote: “Goodbye, family. Now we go home ”. Information is from The Sun.

The Boeing 737 left Jakarta Soekarno-Hata International Airport at 4:36 am (Brasilia time) and was bound for the city of Pontianak, on the island of Borneo. The flight was supposed to last about 90 minutes, however, four minutes after takeoff, the plane lost contact with the command tower. Subsequently, the authorities confirmed that the aircraft had crashed into the sea.

According to Ratih’s brother, Irfansyah Riyanto, in addition to his sister and children, his parents were also on the flight. “I took them to the airport, helped with check-in and luggage … I feel like I still can’t believe it and it happened so quickly,” he said.

Still, according to Irfansyah, the family should have boarded an earlier flight, but it was unclear why they changed the trip. After the Boeing disappeared, Ratih’s brother ran to the airport in search of family information. “We feel powerless, we can only wait and hope to have some information soon,” Irfansyah said.

On Sunday (10), Indonesian authorities said that the two Boeing black boxes were located in the sea off the coast of Jakarta. Objects can be essential in helping specialists determine the causes of the accident. Hours earlier, teams of divers found body parts, debris from the plane’s fuselage and clothing off the coast of the Indonesian capital.
