A survivor of the accident that killed more than 40 people, Rosana Aparecida Santos, 47, reported that after the collision between the bus and a truck in Taguaí, she had to step over the dead.

“It was very fast. I didn’t feel anything hitting me. I grabbed my bag, got up and went out the back, which was open. I had to go through several dead and others in agony,” said the sewing editor, in an interview with Epoch.

Rosana was sitting in a middle seat, facing the bus driver, and felt the vehicle sway after trying to pass. He stood up and witnessed the moment of the collision. “It was a prohibited overtaking by the driver. He was leaning heavily against the truck in front and yet, without visibility, he passed. When I felt the rocking of the bus, I got up from the seat, I realized that the trucker tried to push him away, but he couldn’t, he didn’t have time. The bus was completely destroyed on the driver’s side and the truck stopped 50 meters away, in a ravine, “he recalled.

After the accident, Rosana was conscious and without bleeding. In all, 41 people died from the accident. 11 people were injured and 5 have already been discharged.
