A 39-year-old health professional is the new fatal victim of the new coronavirus in Curitiba. According to information in the daily bulletin, published on Sunday (26), by the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), she had been hospitalized for three weeks and had no comorbidities. In total, the capital of Paraná now has 16 confirmed deaths and 509 cases of infected people. Of these, 360 are already recovered and released from isolation.

Also according to the bulletin, in addition to the six new cases, there are still 107 people with suspected covid-19 in the city. Another 1,148 cases were discarded after laboratory tests.
Hospitalizations
According to the SMS, since the first case, confirmed on March 11, 152 people required hospitalization due to complications caused by infection with the new coronavirus, 81 in the ICU and 31 that required mechanical ventilation.
In Curitiba, the average age of people confirmed with covid-19 is currently 44 years, ranging from 1 to 96 years. The average age of patients requiring hospitalization is 58 years.
