Government of RS will pay 136 new beds ITS ICU | Rio Grande do Sul

As the Ministry of Health has not yet made the payment of the costs to start the operation of the beds, the governor committed to the daily costs of R $ 1.6 thousand each, according to Eduardo Leite, on Monday (4 ).

“As there was an exchange at the Ministry of Health, the[[[[payment]It hasn’t happened yet, and in order for us to get it up and running immediately, we sent an ordinance from the State Secretary of Health that will allow the payment of daily fees until the federal appeal is filed. It is a very important decision to prioritize service to the population, ”he said.

The government also recommended that municipalities that already have another 150 beds ready in 19 hospitals, also without qualification, assume the daily costs.

The government estimates spending R $ 6.7 million per month. For the municipalities, the amount would be R $ 7.4 million in total.

According to the Secretary of Health, Arita Bergmann, the ministry is already discussing the matter with the Council of Municipal Health Secretariats (Cosems).

“It is an extremely important decision, because these state and municipal beds are ready, with personnel and equipment, and, due to the delay in the qualification of the Ministry of Health, we made this decision so that they can start operating immediately,” he said.

With the 286 beds in operation, the RS will have expanded its intensive care capacity by 30% in RS. So far, there are 1,001 ICU beds for adults served by SUS.

As of Monday afternoon (4), Rio Grande do Sul had 66% of the beds for adults, public and private. Of these, 8.9% are confirmed patients with Covid-19 and 7.1% are suspected of having the disease. RS has more than 1,700 cases and 74 deaths, according to the latest bulletin.
