The Secretary of Health of Rio Grande do Sul (SES) today published an ordinance with guidelines for shopping malls to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic. The rules are effective as of today. However, it will be up to the municipalities to decide whether or not to open the establishments, which can only return in places that are considered to have low transmission of the virus.
According to SES, venues must keep buffet services closed for restaurants and cafes, cinemas, theaters, bars, recreation areas, and store locker rooms.
Shopping centers will reopen as long as all workers have access to personal protective equipment, PPE. Only people with protective masks and subject to temperature measurement will be allowed to enter.
It was also determined that drinking water sources will be deactivated, tables and benches will have a greater space between them, as well as the distance between people must be respected in elevators, escalators and hallways. Site facilities must have 70% alcohol gel available.
State divided by flags
Each region of the state was assigned a yellow, orange, red, or black flag. The colors represent different stages of contagion of the covid-19.
Establishments can only reopen in areas with yellow or orange flags, and must operate with a maximum of 50% of employees and 50% of consumer capacity. In red flag regions, sales can be made through delivery or Self-service.
In black flag locations, stores that do not represent essential services will not be able to function.
