According to the new text, the business can operate from 8 am to 4 pm. The shopping centers will be able to operate from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. The new restrictive measures should take effect from Monday and should continue until January 11.
In a meeting with commercial representatives on Saturday night (26) and early this Sunday (27), the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima (PSC), decided to relax the measures of Decree 43.234, which provided for the closure of services not essential in the State today until January 10, due to the increase in cases, hospitalizations and deaths from Covid-19 in the morning.
According to the new text, which will be published in the next few hours this Sunday, the new restriction measures should take effect from Monday and continue until January 11. The text must also include the operation of commerce in general from 8 am to 4 pm in the State.
According to the governor’s announcement, there will be a relaxation in the opening hours of restaurants, being considered the model of food that they promote, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Shopping centers are now authorized to operate from 12:00 to 20:00. The measure was celebrated by representatives of the sector.
On Saturdays and Sundays only restaurant services can be provided. Parties and events are still prohibited. The churches continue with a maximum occupancy of 50% of the total capacity.
“In this conversation we had, there was also a commitment from the representatives of the trade in the effort so that we can combat the cases of Covid-19. The main causes of the increase are crowds, hence the commitments made here, to make the transport of employees to companies, masks available, and also alcohol gel. In addition, we only have a 50% occupancy in these places, ”said the governor during the conference.
The governor stressed that the flexibility measures can be revised, if hospitalizations increase again. “If the capacity of beds remains below 80%, we can relax the measures from the 11th, but if hospitalizations increase, this measure can be revised,” said the governor of Amazonas.
According to federal deputy Alberto Neto, who participated in the meeting with commercial representatives, Amazonas should receive 80 monitors and 90 respirators from the Ministry of Health to combat Covid-19.
The governor’s decision comes hours after protesters blocked the main access roads to the city, at alternate times, causing an intense traffic jam in the capital.
“There are some adjustments that must be made in this decree. Our Committee is willing to work so that the decree begins to apply from Monday to the 11th,” concluded the governor.
