Abandoned inside a cardboard box and crying, thus the residents of the Jardim Nova Esperança neighborhood of Goiânia, Goiás, found a newborn near a post in the region. The case occurred on Friday (25), as determined by G1.
Upon identifying that it was a baby, the neighbors called the Military Police and the Fire Department. Before the rescue team arrived, residents took turns caring for the baby, the baby was given a warm bath, and then a neighbor who is breastfeeding her child volunteered to feed the newborn.
Flávia, who lives in the region, said she was scared when she heard a woman screaming in the street saying she had a baby in a box.
“I came in and he said there was a baby in the box. She told me she thought it was a doll. That’s when he moved out, ”he told G1.
“It was stained with coconut oil, with an umbilical cord, some bites bite it, poor man. He was purple and it was very cold, but they grabbed him, took care of him and took him away, ”he added.
According to the Fire Department, everything indicates that the baby was born a few hours ago. The corporation took him to the Maternal and Child Hospital (HMI).
According to the health unit, the newborn was admitted to the emergency room to be accompanied, weighs 3,150 kg and still had the umbilical cord. Also according to the bulletin, “okay”, as determined by G1.
The incident was registered with the Civil Police and will be analyzed to try to identify who abandoned the baby.
