The report of Gazette I contacted the administration of the clinic this Sunday morning. In a note released in the late afternoon, the company confirms the diagnosis of two residents and six employees. Check it out in full:

NOTE
ILPI Laranjeiras Residencial para Terceira Idade Ltda, publishes that since the WHO classified COVID-19 as a Pandemic, all the security measures guided by the health authorities have been followed, including the restriction of residents’ contact with the external public , the adoption of more aggressive sanitation protocols and the use of protective equipment by employees.

Unfortunately, the virus does not follow regulations and decrees, and two of our residents were positive. Both residents have the recent hospitalization as a common circumstance and had no contact between them, since both remained isolated upon returning to the institution, and each resides in one of the central offices. Among our thirty employees, six of them also tested positive, all of whom work in only one of the headquarters, and who had contact with only one of the infected residents. Such facts lead us to suspect that the residents contracted the disease outside the institution.

The institution has medical assistance from a professional with extensive experience in intensive care units, being able to provide primary care to elderly residents. Our institution will continue with joint efforts with the health authorities and the Public Ministry to prevent and combat COVID-19.
