The total restoration of the electricity supply in the state of Amapá should happen next weekend he said today (7) the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque. The state is already on the fifth day of the electrical blackout, after a fire sea it damaged the three electricity generators of an electrical substation. The morning of this Saturday, the power supply was resumed in the neighborhoods of the capital, Macapá, and in other localities of the state. According to the minister, 65% of the supply was resumed.
“Charging is gradually resuming in the state, we already have about 65% of the charging resumed. We expect this to be restored to 100% in the next few days, ”Albuquerque said. “We believe that 100% of power in Amapá state will be restored by the end of next week,” added the minister.
Of the 16 cities in the state, only three – Oiapoque, Laranjal do Jari and Vitória do Jari- no were affected by the blackout and maintained their energy, since they are supplied by independent systems.
Gradual return of energy
This Saturday morning (7), the Ministry of Mines and Energy reported Macapá’s electrical system was reconnected to the Transmission Network of the National Interconnected System (SIN), after repairs to one of the transformers of the Macapá Substation were completed overnight. Consequently, according to a note released by the portfolio, the return of energy supply will be gradual, “assessing the safety and reliability of the electricity supply to consumers.”
According to the state government, during the morning the situation began to normalize in the main cities. In Macapá, most of the neighborhoods were already receiving power, as well as in the second largest municipality, which is Santana.
Rationing scheme
The government adopted a rationing scheme, with power reactivation and disconnection every six hours throughout the state, until supply normalization. The measure was taken after a meeting of the Companhia de Eletricidade do Amapá (CEA) with the Operator of the National Electric System (ONS).
In the afternoon of this Saturday, Albuquerque, together with the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (DEM-AP) and the governor of the state, Waldez Góes, carried out a technical visit to the load descent substation of the Isolux company to accompany the electrical supply restoration work . .
During a press conference after the visit, Góes said that the rationing is aimed at guaranteeing energy for places considered a priority, such as hospitals.
“The distributor that is CEA together with the ONS defined the best way to use this available energy and use only that energy so that the priorities and society in the 13 municipalities have some amount of energy supplied to return to normal life” said Góes . “No hospital has run out of power. We didn’t have a start anywhere, ”he added.
Tomorrow another inspection of the works is planned in the municipality of Laranjal do Jari with a transformer that must be transferred to Macapá to help with the supply of energy.
“In addition to these, other actions are underway, in the coming days thermoelectric generators will arrive to reinforce the energy security of the state. We are also carrying out maintenance work on [Usina Hidrelétrica] Coaracy Nunes so that it can increase the energy load of the state ”, informed the minister.
The minister also said that after the restoration of the three generators they were replaced, there will be backup equipment so that the situation does not repeat itself. “When we have the three transformers, there will be a reserve. But we also started energy planning studies so that situations like this never happen again, ”he said.
