The judicial decision was taken in a process in which the issuer is charged a debt estimated at R $ 137.8 million. The lawsuit arises from the bankruptcy of Petroforte Brasileiro de Petróleo, which originates from loans obtained by the Banco Rural issuer. The loan was bought from the bank by one of the Petroforte group companies, which went bankrupt.
In a first decision, the Court had determined the seizure of RedeTV! Shares. The bankruptcy estate appealed and claimed that the amount would not be enough to pay off the debt.
Thus, Judge Maria Rita Rebello Pinho Dias determined that the personal property of the entrepreneurs should be blocked until an evaluation of the value of the shares.
Wanted by Gentile’s column, lawyer José Carlos Etrusco Vieira, who represents RedeTV !, said that the station does not recognize the debt and its “absurd value”. He also said that he will appeal the decision that blocked the assets of the entrepreneurs.
