Dieynne has been admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since Sunday (31) after being bitten by a Jararaca snake during a bath in the Serra Azul waterfall, in Nobres, 151 km from Cuiabá (MT).

According to Dieynne’s family, the doctor gave two options to try to improve the patient’s breathing. One was tracheoscopy and the other was intubation.

“As intubation would have a very high risk of developing pneumonia (which is not good at the moment), we opted for a tracheostomy, as a precaution, so as not to end up having to do any emergency procedures,” he explains in a statement.

After surgery, the doctor was admitted to the ICU again and is under observation.

In a note, Parque Sesc Serra Azul, responsible for the tourist attraction, reported that the inn’s health team was called immediately, provided all the guidelines and has been following the case ever since.
