To Secretary of Sade de Itabira He reported on Thursday (12/10) that, after the weekly evaluation of the State Committee to Combat Coronavirus, the municipality will return to the red wave the Conscious Mines plan. The measure takes effect from this Saturday (12/12). The degree of risk in the city has increased in the last follow-up of contagion of COVID-19 and it reached 20 points (ranging from 0 to 32), fitting into the red wave.
So far, 85,262 tests have been carried out in Itabira. Regarding hospitalization rates, the most recent data shows that 40% of ICU beds and 35% of ward beds, reserved for people with COVID-19, both from SUS, are occupied.
Returns history
Between October 10 and December 3, the city of Itabira, located in the Macrorregio Centro do Minas Consciente, managed to stay on the green wave. However, after the electoral period, the municipality began to register considerable increases in the number of new cases in Covid-19.
So, last Thursday (3/12), Itabira turned yellow. One of the main reasons was a 27% increase in the COVID-19 contamination rate. At the time, the city saw no problems allowing services such as gyms, beauty salons, clubs, bars and restaurants to operate.
The attorney general of the Itabira City Council, Leonardo de Souza Rosa, explained that it is necessary to balance health security with the economy. “We approve new attitudes so that citizens and businesses do not suffer more damage. As a competition to close, or not our establishment, we will have a larger contingent to inspect with the support of the Military Police ”, explained Leonardo Rosa.
The attorney general also added a warning about the possibility of closure. “We need to make it very clear that this monitoring is done weekly. If the citizen is not careful and does not do the proper isolation, next week we can go to confinement. We will need, once again, that the population, the businessmen and the merchant help us ”, he commented.
The main update of all services is in the reference footage for customer service: one client for every 10 m² of space. This way, retail stores will be able to open extended hours to avoid crowds. In addition, bars and restaurants are expected to close until 10:00 p.m. In these places it is prohibited to consume parts and circulate in the environment without using the mask. Finally, academies must also obey the aforementioned social distance footage.
The safe updating of the rules of the red wave responds, above all, to the needs of the economic sectors that have Christmas as the main financial activity of the year. The new regulations for the city of Itabira will appear in a municipal decree that will be published this Friday (11/12), in the Official dirio.
