Mayra cotta, the lawyer representing Dani Calabresa and five other women in the case of harassment against the comedian Marcius melhem, gave an interview to journalist Roberto Cabrini. The report was published on Sunday night (6) in the Record TV program ‘Domingo Espetacular’.
Last week, after the Piauí report was released, Melhem said he would sue Dani and Mayra.
“I think it is regrettable that a lawyer, who represents victims of sexual harassment, also places himself in the position of victim, in the face of such a threat. I think it is dangerous for the role of a lawyer to be threatened in this way, ”he said.
In a written message sent to Roberto Cabrini, and reflected in the report, Melhem stated: “Out of respect for you and your viewers, I need to clarify that once again the lawyer Mayra Cotta goes to the press instead of going to court to seek redress for the women it represents. I come to public opinion to reaffirm that they are lying accusations. I never locked up anyone, never blackmailed anyone, never forced anyone into anything. For that reason, I am suing attorney Mayra Cotta. “
When asked by Cabrini about how he receives the fact that Melhem practically tries to devalue the complaint, the lawyer replied: “I understand it in a sad but not surprising way. I think it is the oldest tactic among bullies, to try to discredit, reduce, reduce the pain of the victims.
