In view of the constant drops in active cases of the new coronavirus, the Curitiba municipal health department decided to switch to the yellow flag for the coronavirus as of this Sunday (27). The month began with a yellow flag, which took effect on August 17. But with the growing number of cases, the city soon backtracked and on September 4 the orange warning flag came into force, stricter with the operation of commerce and services.

The flag change occurs after an evaluation of nine indicators, divided into two groups: the level of spread of the disease and the service capacity of the network. Curitiba reached a score ranging from 0.01 to 1.99, which is a yellow flag since last week. However, the secretariat maintained an orange alert to guarantee the exchange with more security and thus avoid a new increase in cases, as happened the previous time.
