The mayor of Rio, Marcelo Crivella (Republicans), and candidate for reelection, cursed the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), for “vagabundo” and “viado” during a party meeting on Wednesday night (18 ), with members who disputed the election of councilor.
The meeting took place in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio. Some of those present at the meeting were crowded and without a mask. (see video above).
In a video posted on a social network, the current mayor of the city says: “Do you know whose SO this is? [organização social]? This is from São Paulo, this is from Doria, fag, tramp ”. The recording was broadcast on an account by Sandro Avelar, president of the Império Serrano samba school and a supporter of candidate Eduardo Paes (DEM), who is contesting the second round with Crivella.
The mayor referred to Rio’s social organizations that work in the health area and said that the money received to pay employees was used to settle commitments with suppliers. Some operating systems that operate in Rio are based in São Paulo.
In a note sent to G1 this morning (19), the candidate for re-election apologized to the governor.
“The speech was a moment of revolt by the OS to withhold the salary of doctors and nurses even though they received it from the mayor’s office. In times of a pandemic this can cost lives. Marcelo Crivella apologizes for the excesses, and to the governor João Doria, “says the note.
On Twitter, the governor of São Paulo commented on Crivella’s speech.
“I regret that the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, a pastor who should be an example, makes attacks, uses profanity and prejudice to refer to a governor. Mayor Crivella is small and sadly ends his cycle in a melancholy way.”
The Social Health Organizations (OS) are non-profit private sector institutions that work in partnership with the state or municipality and collaborate in a complementary manner to consolidate the Unified Health System.
Typically, contracts are signed by tender. But there is also emergency contracts, without tender, such as those signed during the pandemic.
Management is carried out by the contractor, in this case, the city council or the state government.
On Wednesday (18), employees of the Evandro Freire Municipal Hospital, in Ilha do Governador, complained that they did not receive even 30% of this month’s salary.
The unit is managed by OS Cejam, which is based in São Paulo.
Several contracts signed with social organizations during the Covid-19 pandemic are investigated and motivated by police operations in Rio.
One of them – Operation Tris in Idem – led to the dismissal of Wilson Witzel and the arrest of several implicated, including former Secretary of Health Edmar Santos.
Santos became a defendant in a lawsuit for fraud in the purchase of Covid respirators and is designated as one of the leaders of the gang that worked within the State Department of Health.
