Street vendors freely sold drinks on the spot, even with the presence of a Municipal Guard vehicle, which only acted to try to stop the sale after 11 at night.

The fines will be classified as very serious and may vary from R $ 15 thousand to R $ 16 thousand.

Rio registers an increase in the moving average of deaths from Covid-19

The state of Rio registered 122 deaths and 2,955 new cases of the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to data published this Friday by the state government. In total, there are 17,575 victims and 249,798 infected by Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March. With the latest update, there is an increase in the moving average of deaths, which points to an increasing trend in the spread of the disease.

The moving average is now 98 deaths and 1,335 cases per day. There is a 36% increase in the average number of deaths compared to the previous two weeks, which, being above 15%, indicates a scenario of growth in the spread of the disease in Rio de Janeiro. The state last experienced this surge scenario on August 31, 18 days ago.

The 7-day moving average averages between the number of deaths for the day and the previous six. It is compared to an average of two weeks ago to indicate whether there is an uptrend, stability or a downtrend. The calculation is a statistical resource to be able to see the trend of the data, drowning out the “noise” caused on weekends, when the notification of deaths is reduced due to the shortage of shift employees.
