Rio – The Rio de Janeiro State Department of Health (SES) reported that, as of this Saturday, it had 657,139 confirmed cases and 37,629 deaths from coronavirus in the state. In the last 24 hours, 3,935 new cases were registered and 411 deaths, what does it mean new death registration in the state. Among the confirmed cases, 605,135 patients recovered from the disease.

The occupancy rates for the covid room and the covid ICU are 81.3% and 88.9%, respectively. The data is from the Covid-19 Monitoring Panel, updated at 5 pm by the State Health Secretariat (SES).

Meeting by new decree

Immediately after the inauguration of the Dr. Ricardo Cruz State Hospital, a modular unit in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense, this Saturday morning, the acting governor Cláudio Castro entered a meeting with his entourage, to define what points will be addressed in a new decree of restrictions to deal with covid-19.

The new text must be based on the decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that leaves the municipalities in charge of what regulations will be adopted for each region, taking into account the availability of beds and the health situation in each city. The measurements will be published at the end of the day.

One of the points -still under study- is the recommendation to return to face-to-face classes with only 40% of the students’ capacity.
