The Extraordinary Committee of COVID-19 decreed, this Wednesday afternoon (23), that two more regions move to the red wave Conscious Mines. Now, of the 14 regions in the state, eight are at the lowest level restricted, in which only essential services such as pharmacies, supermarkets, bakeries and banks can operate.

As a way of alarm population on the need to maintain social distance and protective measures, the government tries stop the advance of COVID-19 in the state at the end of the year, especially during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The South macro-region recedes from the yellow wave to the red wave, joining seven other regions. On the other hand, the Northern Triangle will move from the green wave to the yellow one.

Thus, in the red wave there are eight regions: Jequitinhonha, East, East, South, Northeast, Vale do Aço, Southeast, Central-South and South. Another five are in the yellow wave: Center, North, Northwest, West and Northern Triangle. In the green wave there is only the region of the Southern Triangle.

The changes start from this Saturday (26) and are valid for one week. These changes aim to maintain, in a certain way, the pandemic balance in the regions of Minas Gerais and are part of the plan to safely resume economic activities in the state.
