COVID-19: East of Minas Gerais registers 14 deaths this Monday

The COVID-19 Epidemiological Bulletin issued by the Municipal Secretary of Health of Governador Valadares registered, this Monday (12/28), eight deaths from COVID-19. The occupation of the SUS beds of the COVID-19 ICU was 89.70% after these deaths.

The same COVID-19 ICU beds in private hospitals were kept at 100% occupancy, as has been the case for several days in the city. In total, since the start of the new coronavirus pandemic, Governor Valadares has already registered 12,438 cases of COVID-19 and 431 deaths.

In Ipatinga, the Ipatinga Health Department confirmed, on Monday, 4 more deaths from COVID-19. The victims are three women, one 87 and two 90 years old and a 65 year old man. Tests carried out on the victims were positive for the disease.

Death at 15 in Santana do Paraso

In Santana do Paraso, in the Ao Vale, the Municipal Health Department registered two more deaths and 21 new cases of COVID-19. With the new data, the number of deaths rises to 37 and 3,165 confirmed cases of the disease. The victims were a 95-year-old woman and a 15-year-old teenager. The elderly woman has comorbidities.

The adolescent, who does not have comorbidities, lived in the Residencial Paraso neighborhood and died on Sunday (12/27), at the Municipal Hospital of Ipatinga. The COVID-19 test was performed on the day of death with a positive result for the disease.
