The acting president of the Court of Justice of Paraná (TJ-PR), Luiz Osório Moraes Panza, annulled on Friday night (19) the precautionary measure of the State Court of Accounts (TCE) that suspended the circulation of public transport in Curitiba . The suspension had been determined by the president of the TCE, counselor Fabio Camargo, in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus. In the precautionary measure, Camargo determined that the provision of public transport to health workers and other activities considered essential, including vaccination against Covid-19, must be guaranteed.

During the afternoon, Mayor Rafael Greca criticized the precautionary measure. “We are going to appeal to the Court of Justice so that this nonsense is not consummated. A big city needs the freedom of health professionals to come and go, it needs to come and go from intensivists, it needs to come and go from conservatives who clean and sweep. You don’t turn off a city, Milan didn’t do that and neither did New York. We need Copel workers, because the respirator cannot lack electricity, ”he said.

In the decision, Panza says the losses from the suspension could be very large. “The damage to the population, especially the most economically vulnerable, will be irreparable. Deprived of their main means of transportation, people would be prevented from going to hospitals and health units and even enjoying the services and activities that are considered essential ”, he explained.
