For the first time since the start of the new coronavirus pandemic, the Belo Horizonte City Council published, on Thursday (14), the number of cases of the disease separated by neighborhood.
With this, it is possible to know which neighborhoods in the capital of Minas Gerais concentrate the most confirmed patients confirmed by Covid-19 in the municipality.
The ten neighborhoods with the most cases are the following:
- Lourdes: 37 cases
- Belvedere: 26 cases
- Buritis: 26 cases
- Employees: 22 cases
- Sion: 20 cases
- Gutiérrez: 20 cases
- Castillo: 18 cases
- Serra: 13 cases
- Prado: 12 cases
- Santa Efigênia: 12 cases

The figures, however, are not up to date. They refer to the situation in the capital on May 3. But they are the most recent figures released by PBH by neighborhood, so far.
This Thursday (14), Belo Horizonte has 1,068 confirmed diagnoses of the disease, 28 deaths and 1,616 cases ruled out.
Among the 28 deaths in the capital, 18 are women and 10 are men. Twenty-one patients were over the age of 60, 13 had diabetes, and 9 had heart disease.
Contaminated healthcare professionals
The bulletin of the Municipal Secretariat of Health also reported that 1,683 health professionals were evaluated. Of these, 67 were positive for the disease, 104 are still awaiting test results, and the rest were negative.
