Coronavirus: MG confirms six deaths from Covid-19; there are almost 3,500 cases

The State Department of Health confirmed 115 new cases of the disease between Monday and Tuesday (12); more than 101,000 await evidence

The Minas Gerais government confirmed six more deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours alone, between Monday morning (11) and this Tuesday (12). Balance of the State Department of Health (SES-MG) indicates that there are already 127 deaths in the region as a result of Covid-19.

The number of cases also increased from one day to the next, there are 115 more in that short period of time. So far, 3,435 miners have received a positive diagnosis for the coronavirus. Meanwhile, another 101,496 are awaiting tests that rule out whether they are infected or not.

The six deaths confirmed in the SES-MG report this Tuesday did not necessarily occur overnight, but between May 2 and Monday (11). The deaths occurred in Betim, Juiz de Fora, Muriaé, Santa Luzia, São José da Lapa and Uberlândia. The oldest death is that of an 81-year-old man who lives in São José da Lapa.

Who died later was a teenager, only 14 years old, recently transplanted. He was born in the municipality of Betim, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The most recent death occurred on Monday, a 68-year-old patient from Uberlândia.

The city of Triângulo Mineiro, by the way, is the third in Minas Gerais with the highest number of deaths from coronavirus, there are 11, it is also the third with the highest number of cases, 243. Uberlândia is only behind Belo Horizonte and Juiz de Fora. Twenty-six residents of the mining capital died after contracting the infection. BH is also the city with the highest number of cases in the entire region, there are 966.

Juiz de Fora, in the Zona da Mata, appears behind with 326 cases and 14 deaths. The most recent death in the city occurred on May 5, but only appeared on Tuesday’s balance sheet. The victim is a 91-year-old woman with comorbidities.

The deaths confirmed in the health report that occurred in the cities of Muriaé, Santa Luzia and São José da Lapa are also the first in these municipalities. Along with Juiz de Fora, Muriaé has 37 cases of coronavirus. In Santa Luzia, in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan region, there are 15 residents diagnosed with Covid-19. Also neighboring the capital of Minas Gerais, the municipality of São José da Lapa has only two cases of the disease.
