Take a look at the nutritional duel between persimmon and star fruit, two fruits from Asia that have adapted very well in Brazil.
Originally from Asia, these fruits arrived in Brazil in the 19th century: the cannon at the beginning and the khaki towards the end Both have adapted perfectly to our country, both in terms of cultivation and flavor.
According to nutritionist Renata Guirau, from the Oba Hortifruti chain, a strong point of persimmon is the presence of fibers. “They help reduce blood sugar and cholesterol levels, increase satiety, in addition to promoting the function of the intestine and the good colonization of bacteria in that organ,” he lists.
The orange fruit still shows vitamin A, essential for vision. Carambola stands out in terms of calories and vitamin C. “This nutrient is an important antioxidant and a precursor to collagen production,” says Renata. “It is also associated with maintaining immunity,” he adds.
It is simply not worth abusing (much less on an empty stomach): the fruit is rich in oxalate, which can form crystals and damage the kidneys. In addition, the two foreigners are worthy of entering the routine.
