The former minister and candidate of the PDT for the Presidency of the Republic in 2018, Ciro Gomes, became a target of the Federal Police for the alleged crime of crimes against the honor of the president Jair bolsonaro (no party) after criticizing him in an interview. The request to open an investigation was signed by the President himself through the Legal Affairs Subsection of the General Secretariat of the Presidency and subsequently led by the Minister of Justice, André Mendonça.
During an interview with Rádio Tupinambá, in Sobral (CE), in November last year, Ciro said that the population, by not supporting Bolsonaro’s candidates, showed a feeling of “repudiation of Bolsonarism, its boacality, its inability to manage the country’s economy and its lack of respect for public health ”.
In the same conversation, the former minister described the president as a “thief” and cited the case of the “crackers” involving Bolsonaro’s children when speaking of the former judge. Sergio Moro.
