The city of Campo Grande is expected to issue a new decree on Wednesday resuming the curfew in the capital, from midnight to 5 a.m., starting tomorrow. The decision was announced after almost two hours of conversation with commercial representatives. The measure will last 15 days and can be renewed according to the number of cases. Educational blitzes will also be held starting at 1 am.

The curfew ended on October 15 in the capital. But since November 16, the covid curve has grown again. “We anticipate, because in 15 days these young people will contaminate their uncles, parents, grandparents, who are older,” explains the Secretary of Health, José Mauro Filho.

According to the city council, this will be the only decree with a new restrictive measure in Campo Grande. Public transportation, classes, and parties follow the same flexibility rules;

The justification is that there are still more than 50 beds available to care for patients with covid-19 in Campo Grande. But the city government guaranteed that it will put three times as many teams on the streets to inspect the supply of stores and comply with biosecurity measures.

Only representatives of the trade and the city council participated in Wednesday’s meeting. There was no Public Ministry or the Office of the Ombudsman, bodies that previously showed mobilization for restrictive measures.

Earlier, when entering the meeting, the president of the CDL (Chamber of Commerce), reinforced that the trade is against any tougher measure at this time. “We are doing our homework. We depend on this December to recover the economy. We have a repressed demand after 9 months of the pandemic. The expectation is to increase sales by 30%. We will attend with great security and tranquility. We are trying to improve standards of biosafety “.

According to the secretary, today there are 247 activated ICU beds, but that number can reach 332 quickly, according to demand.

The Capital has the highest growth rate of the disease in the State, the ICU capacity reached 100% in the main public and private hospitals of the city, HR and Hospital da Unimed.

In the 42nd week of epidemiological follow-up, in October, the moving average was 143 new cases in Campo Grande every 24 hours. In the last seven days of measurement in November, the Capital has more than doubled, with an average of 352 positive tests per day, an increase of 146%.
