Mayors Front
President of the National Front of Mayors (FNP), coordinated last Thursday the 23rd a meeting with the mayors to formulate a National Orientation Protocol for the Flexibility of Social Isolation. The proposal was sent to the president, Jair Bolsonaro.
The objective is to have a single document, created with representatives of the three levels of government (municipalities, states and the Union), to help government officials implement actions that allow the resumption of economic activities safely and in accordance with all the necessary sanitary regulations.
For the mayor of Campinas, the protocol should guide states and municipalities to gradually resume their activities, respecting the situation in each region. “It is not a question of date, but of circumstances.”
Among the measures, the protocol indicates that managers must consider technical and scientific information, such as: ICU beds and beds occupation, availability of respirators and PPE (personal protective equipment), evolution of confirmed cases of the disease and deaths. Once the necessary technical criteria have been chosen, it is essential that the country has the capacity to assess the population.
“We had a protocol to do the isolation, now we need the same for the reopening. In addition to the orientation, we need the Ministry of Health to say what will be done to help the municipalities return to normal, “said the mayor.
